This summer, we all would like Free Residential Electricity. Since this season tends to rise energy bills a little more. But really… Free Residential Electricity is free? Or is it a strategy of power companies to hook us? I wrote this blog in order to explain a little more about these services.
Many companies offer energy services with free nights or weekends. But do you really believe it’s free? What they do is they sweeten the customers to fall in love with their proposals. Let us say: We hear the word free to convince us and close the contract. And we did not analyze things well, as our routine and especially the price per kWh.
Free Residential Electricity Means
- Higher kWh rates. The reason they do this is to cover the free kWh usage. (I have seen rates above 15 kWh very carefully analyzed)
- No Peak Hours- have you asked yourself; Why not give free energy in the daytime? Or why the free service never starts before rush hour at 5:00 PM?
- Confusion in billing- These bills from companies confuse customers. There are bills separating the free kWh which are consumed at regular price. This confuses a lot because users do not really know how many kWh were consumed during the cycle.
- Do not know how to use or save energy. This is something very important, and we all want to save electricity in our homes. And you think you have free hours where you can use the energy at will without any charge?
These are the points that we should meditate on before deciding on these plans for weekends or free nights. Consider each one and see if this energy service will really work at home before being allowed to engage and close a contract.
